Which Three Stocks Would You Most Like To Own?

The Situation

You have a good friend who wants to invest in the stock market. Your friend heard that you are taking Accounting 1B at De Anza and has asked for your help in selecting three excellent stocks to buy as a long term investment.

The Task

1. Form a group with 3 to 5 people. (No more than 5 people please.) Introduce yourselves.

2. Decide on a name for your friend.

3. Pick three of your favorite stocks to recommend to your friend to buy as a long term investment.

4. Write down your responses to the above items. Be sure to list WHY you selected each stock. Put the group members name on the top of the paper. You will turn this in at the end of the class.

5. Prepare your group to give a very short presentation to the entire class. For the group presentation, all members of the group will stand at the front of the class and introduce themselves (first names). They will put their stock picks on the document camera and explain their selections and the reasons for picking each stock.

6. We will draw names out of the hat to determine which groups go first. We may not have enough time to do all of the groups but you should be prepared to make a presentation anyway.
